I've done some tweaking
It's been an interesting hour or so. I've fiddled with my Blogger settings, I've added a what's-this-all-about bit, I've played around with this and that, I've checked out some other Blogger blogs (my God, but there are really bad ones out there!), and here I am at a ridiculously early hour of the morning, wondering if I should grab a quick bite to eat and then go back to bed, or just go back to bed anyway.
I'd already done some CSS updating on my main weblog, which took until 2.00 am or so, then I read a bit of my current book (Larry McMurtry's Streets of Laredo) and finally turned over to go to sleep. I woke from a disturbing dream at 6.15 am or so, as usual in those circumstances came in here to my iMac to check email and somehow got dragged down the unforgiving road of web surfing until I landed at Blogger's door.
I should really do some more work on the website upgrade for my principal client. At this stage I think it's appropriate to fall short of adding the new functionality which will form the core of the upgrade (dynamically generated graphs and tables which show Fund performance trends and other details at individual Investor level). But I could certainly continue with the content re-design, applying the new look which the client instantly approved at our meeting last Thursday to the entire site. That beggars the question, of course: should the upgrade roll out in two stages (the new look for existing content first, then the new functionality later), or is it better to wait until everything is ready and launch a super upgrade some months down the road.
In the mean time the more immediate consideration is: what to have for breakfast.
